Miranda Priestly Glares and Stares Reserved For Those Who Seek to Discourage You

Here’s Part 2 to the previous blog post entitled-  The “You Can’t” Mantra We’re All So Used To

To elaborate on the last post, let me tell you that no one who has defied this mantra has sought to be a genius. They just pursued their passions and their dreams and they’re earning a good amount of money. I’ve seen people grow, learn more and enjoy the work that they want to do rather than giving in to the “You Can’t” bullshitters.

People who HAVE given in to the mantra, on the other hand, whine as they dine and just spend their lives paying bills. In other words, they don’t enjoy their lives- even if they say they do. Most people nag about how they ‘have to go to work tomorrow’ because they are bored with their jobs and lives.

The You Can’t Mantra isn’t always directed at work, bee tee dubs. People who adorn the mantra also say things like “You CAN’T lead a happy life without marriage” or they try to instill the idea that by listening to them, you could go a long way in life via unsolicited advice.

Actually, you can.

It’s just that the world we live in today is so restrictive and negative that a majority of the populace will blindly refute that you can do much without listening to them.

There are several people out there who are doing quite well not working 9-5 jobs (not that there’s anything wrong with those). These guys are writers, bloggers, freelance writers, photographers, DJs, musicians and the list goes on and on and on.

All you need to do is to believe in yourself and trust me, it’s going to take you a long way 😉

Here are some glares, stares and looks you can give to anyone who seeks to make you feel  otherwise:
